Parasite heart

Becoming

You’re crying now,
shedding tears as the silence fall,
a copious amount of gawkiness
growing in between the both us.

I considered wiping your tears,
but my hands were ice cold,
and my nerves were immobile.
Nothing I could do can fix this now.
Sometimes, I think I’ll do you a favor,
if I just leave you now,
once and for all
and never come back.
You’ve been stuck with me,
for since God knows when
and you’ve had enough.
I was the rust
that killed your metal
and it’s almost gone
into nothing but crumbs.

I should stop killing you-
I should leave.
